Giant storms on Saturn: Nasa captures incredible view of ‘rose’ hurricane 20 times bigger than any on Earth

At first glance, it resembles a giant rose, surrounded by green foliage.
However, in fact this is a huge, violent storm of the surface of Saturn – and one that has been brewing for years
In high-resolution pictures and video, scientists say the hurricane’s eye is about 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers) wide, 20 times larger than the average hurricane eye on Earth.
The spinning vortex of Saturn’s north polar storm resembles a deep red rose of giant proportions surrounded by green foliage in this false-color image from NASA’s Cassini spacecraft. Measurements have sized the eye at a staggering 1,250 miles (2,000 kilometers) across with cloud speeds as fast as 330 miles per hour (150 meters per second).Thin, bright clouds at the outer edge of the hurricane are traveling 330 mph(150 meters per second). The hurricane swirls inside a large, mysterious, six-sided weather pattern known as the hexagon.
‘We did a double take when we saw this vortex because it looks so much like a hurricane on Earth,’ said Andrew Ingersoll, a Cassini imaging team member at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.
‘But there it is at Saturn, on a much larger scale, and it is somehow getting by on the small amounts of water vapor in Saturn’s hydrogen atmosphere.’
Scientists will be studying the hurricane to gain insight into hurricanes on Earth, which feed off warm ocean water.

PASADENA, Calif. — NASA’s Cassini spacecraft has tracked the aftermath of a rare massive storm on Saturn. Data reveal record-setting disturbances in the planet’s upper atmosphere long after the visible signs of the storm abated, in addition to an indication the storm was more forceful than scientists previously thought.
Data from Cassini’s composite infrared spectrometer (CIRS) instrument revealed the storm’s powerful discharge sent the temperature in Saturn’s stratosphere soaring 150 degrees Fahrenheit (83 kelvins) above normal. At the same time, researchers at NASA’s Goddard Spaceflight Center in Greenbelt, Md., detected a huge increase in the amount of ethylene gas, the origin of which is a mystery. Ethylene, an odorless, colorless gas, isn’t typically observed on Saturn. On Earth, it is created by natural and man-made sources.
Goddard scientists describe the unprecedented belch of energy in a paper to be published in the Nov. 20 issue of the Astrophysical Journal.
“This temperature spike is so extreme it’s almost unbelievable, especially in this part of Saturn’s atmosphere, which typically is very stable,” said Brigette Hesman, the study’s lead author and a University of Maryland scientist who works at Goddard. “To get a temperature change of the same scale on Earth, you’d be going from the depths of winter in Fairbanks, Alaska, to the height of summer in the Mojave Desert.”

‘The misery of superstorm Sandy’s devastation grew Tuesday as millions along the U.S. East Coast faced life without power or mass transit for days, and huge swaths of New York City remained eerily quiet. The U.S. death toll climbed to at least 48, many of the victims killed by falling trees, and rescue work continued.
The storm that made landfall in New Jersey on Monday evening with hurricane force cut power to more than 8.2 million across the East and put the presidential campaign on hold just one week before Election Day.
New York was among the hardest hit, with its financial heart closed for a second day. The storm caused the worst damage in the 108-year history of the city’s subway system, and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said it could be four or five days before the biggest U.S. transit system was running again.’

US Hit by Worst Drought in 25 Years, Food Prices Rise

‘Worsening drought in the United States has pushed grain prices to new highs as crops are withering and the temperatures are rising.
The drought in the US Midwest, which is the country’s worst in 25 years, hit maize crop particularly hard, US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said on Wednesday, AFP reported. The US is the world’s biggest producer of corn and soybeans as well as a top food exporter.’

Youtube terminates HAARP investigator account
HAARP Investigator Dutchsinse has had his Youtube account terminated in a clear act of censorship. There is no issue of copyright. All Youtube will say is he was flagged as inappropriate. Dutchsinse was obviously on the right track and somebody ordered Youtube to get rid of him. Youtube should change its name to YouChina. How obvious do they want to be? He is seeking legal action and hopefully the alternative media can apply enough pressure to get his account reinstated.

I have obtained legal representation and will, hopefully in the end, get my account restored. Anyone who watches my videos knows that I used my own content along with public agencies RADAR, earthquake analysis and volcano eruptions.
I had NO OTHER PEOPLES work up or videos up without direct permission from the video maker.. only a few examples on that really .. like the Fukushima theory Finnish scientist video (mirrored with permission) and the Sakurajima volcano videos (also mirrored with permission).
The rest of the videos are mine, therefore no one can claim a copyright against.. and nothing was objectionable or in violation of community guidelines.. but some how this went through WITHOUT ANY KIND OF NOTICE BEING SENT TO ME AS WHY…
The description says … multiple violations of community guidelines AND/OR copyright violations.
I do not know which I am accused of.. I lost 712 videos today with no explanation from youtube.
This is outrageous, and comes on the heels of weeks (and months) of persecution on youtube with NO HELP FROM THEM AT ALL —-
This past month, has been the worst month in my life… hands down.. no holds barred.
Youtube allowed patrioticspace to upload (and keep up) videos with clearly illegal taped phone calls.. youtube still allows videos organizing CLASS ACTION SUITS AGAINST ME.. for stopping trolls from uploading and ruining videos they illegally stole from me. Youtube allows threatening videos , harassing videos against me (dutchsinse).. and then they terminate my account for WHAT? I still do not know.
