Ground Under Fukushima Unit Four Sinking, Structure on the Verge of Complete Collapse

October 17, 2012 Leave a comment

‘Though the mainstream media has long since abandoned the issue, the precarious situation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power facility in Japan is only continuing to worsen, according to a prominent Japanese official. During a recent interview, Mitsuhei Murata, the former Japanese Ambassador to both Switzerland and Senegal, explained that the ground beneath the plant’s Unit 4 is gradually sinking, and that the entire structure is very likely on the verge of complete collapse.

This is highly concerning, as Unit 4 currently holds more than 1,500 spent nuclear fuel rods, and a collective 37 million curies of deadly radiation that, if released, could make much of the world completely uninhabitable. As some Natural News readers will recall, Unit 4 contains the infamous elevated cooling pool that was severely damaged following the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that struck on March 11, 2011.’

France Maintains Key Ban on Monsanto’s GMO Maize Crops

September 19, 2012 Leave a comment

‘In another massive victory against Monsanto and the spread of genetically modified crops, French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayraul has announced that the nation will be maintaining a key ban on the only remaining GMO currently allowed in Europe.

Known as Monsanto’s GMO maize crops, or MON810 maize, the original ban was brought forth back in March following the French court’s previous annulment on a November ban.

Thanks to activism by French citizens and serious political outcry, Monsanto is now effectively blocked from Europe’s gigantic marketplace.’

Enough Wind to Power Global Energy Demand: New Research Examines Limits, Climate Consequences

September 10, 2012 Leave a comment

ScienceDaily (Sep. 9, 2012) — There is enough energy available in winds to meet all of the world’s demand. Atmospheric turbines that convert steadier and faster high-altitude winds into energy could generate even more power than ground- and ocean-based units. New research from Carnegie’s Ken Caldeira examines the limits of the amount of power that could be harvested from winds, as well as the effects high-altitude wind power could have on the climate as a whole.

Their work is published September 9 by Nature Climate Change.

Led by Kate Marvel of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, who began this research at Carnegie, the team used models to quantify the amount of power that could be generated from both surface and atmospheric winds. Surface winds were defined as those that can be accessed by turbines supported by towers on land or rising out of the sea. High-altitude winds were defined as those that can be accessed by technology merging turbines and kites. The study looked only at the geophysical limitations of these techniques, not technical or economic factors.

Doctors and Farmers Find That Eliminating GMOs Prevents Disease

‘In recent years, more and more doctors have started warning their patients to avoid genetically modified foods and the results are paying off. Jeffrey Smith now tells us that thousands of doctors are reporting the elimination of disease simply when patients cut genetically modified foods out of their diets. They are finding the elimination of immune disorders, arthritis, diarrhea, irritable bowel syndrome, allergies, skin problems, general pain, migraines, and restless leg syndrome, among other problems. According to one doctor, the results happen pretty quickly too.

“In terms of allergies,” Dr. Lindner tells us, “it might take two to five days. In terms of depression, it starts to lift almost instantaneously. When I change people from a GMO diet to a GMO-free diet, I see results instantaneously in people who have foggy thinking and people who have gut symptoms like bloating, gas, irritation.”

Dr. Lindner is getting her patients off the most common genetically modified foods including soy, corn, canola oil, and sugar and recommending that they buy organic to avoid even more of them. Full results, she tells us, normally take four to six weeks.’

As truth about Fukushima radiation emerges, Japanese authorities struggle to maintain cover-up

August 1, 2012

The cat is out of the bag, as more evidence continues to emerge proving that clean-up workers at the stricken Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power facility in Japan deliberately covered up high radiation readings at the order of their superiors. And as more people become aware of this disturbing fact, Japanese authorities are trying to maintain the facade that the cover-up was an isolated incident, and that there was not a larger conspiracy to hide legitimate radiation readings from the public.

The Japanese news source Asahi Shimbun (AS) reports that a senior official working for Build-Up, a subcontractor hired during the Fukushima clean-up efforts, has admitted to instructing his workers to wear lead coverings over their dosimeters in order to shield accurate radiation readings. Dosimeters measure an individual’s exposure to radiation, and indicate when it is no longer safe to be in the presence of a radiation source.

Recordings uncovered from a December 2 conversation between the official and his employees reveals that he coaxed them to use the lead coverings by claiming that he had used them many times before without issue. He also apparently told them that they would have to use them in future clean-up efforts as well, and implied that they should get used to using them now.

Bill Gates dumps another $10 million into researching new GM crops for agricultural takeover of Africa

Monday, July 23, 2012 by: Ethan A. Huff, staff writer

(NaturalNews) The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is once again busy funding efforts to promote the spread of the agricultural cancer that are genetically-modified (GM) crops, this time in the form of a $10 million grant it recently issued to a group of British scientists working on new GM crops that require no fertilizer. According to the U.K.’s BBC, the justification behind the need for such research is that the GM crops will supposedly benefit African farmers that are unable to afford fertilizer.

Researchers from the John Innes Centre (JIC) in Norwich will specifically use the grant, which happens to be the largest single investment into GM crops ever made in that country by a private organization, to create novel varieties of corn, wheat, and rice that pull nitrogen out of the air rather than from material fertilizers. Certain crops, including beans already do this naturally, which is what led scientists to begin a process of trying to artificially splice nitrogen-pulling genes into various other crops.

“We believe if we can get nitron fixing cereals we can deliver much higher yields to farmers in Africa and allow them to grow enough food for themselves,” said professor Giles Oldroyd from JIC, lead author of the new study.

US Hit by Worst Drought in 25 Years, Food Prices Rise

Thursday, 19 July 2012

‘Worsening drought in the United States has pushed grain prices to new highs as crops are withering and the temperatures are rising.

The drought in the US Midwest, which is the country’s worst in 25 years, hit maize crop particularly hard, US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said on Wednesday, AFP reported. The US is the world’s biggest producer of corn and soybeans as well as a top food exporter.’

More Than 100,000 Demand End to Nuclear Power in Japan

Tuesday, 17 July 2012

‘Demonstrator’s crowded into Yoyogi Park on Monday, Japan’s national day and the hottest day of the year, in the largest anti-nuclear rally since the Fukushima disaster 16 months ago.

Noda has come under increasing pressure amid growing public distrust of nuclear power after last year’s Fukushima disaster raised concerns about the safety of atomic power. Last month, Noda ordered the reactivation of the reactors three and four at Oi power plant in western Japan after securing support from the mayor of Oi and the governor of Fukui prefecture, where Oi is located.’

Monsanto Promises Pain to EU, Assault Underway

Friday, 13 July 2012

‘Since the introduction of genetically modified (GM) crops into the food supply in the mid-1990s, the European Union has generally resisted allowing these crops to be planted in member countries. This resistance has primarily been due to the fact that there is much debate over the potential harm that GM crops could do to the environment and other non-GM crops, and the potential harm that food containing genetically modified organisms (GMOs) may do to humans.

This resistance seems to be weakening, however, no doubt due to persistent pressure from Monsanto, the world’s leading biotechnology firm, and Monsanto’s many allies in the U.S. government.’

Monsanto to pay $7.5 billion settlement to millions of Brazilian soy farmers

Thursday, July 12, 2012 by: Jonathan Benson

NaturalNews) For at least a decade, Monsanto, the world’s most evil corporation, has been illegally charging Brazilian farmers growing the company’s genetically-modified (GM) crops a two percent tax on production, and a three percent tax for cross-contamination of seed. And according to CorpWatch, the agri-giant could soon have to fork over $7.5 billion in reimbursements to more than five million Brazilian farmers as a result of these blatant crimes.

Oddly enough, Monsanto’s very presence in Brazil was predicated on fraud, as its GM soy seeds were first smuggled into the country illegally back in 1998. Fast forward about 13 years and nearly 75 million acres of arable land in Brazil is now occupied by Monsanto’s GM crops, the vast majority of which constitute Roundup Ready soy.

But the entire Monsanto growing system for GMOs, which prohibits farmers from saving seeds and reusing them the following year — and in this case, requires farmers to pay private taxes directly to Monsanto — is entire against the law in Brazil. Even though former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio “Lula” Da Silva basically grandfathered-in legalization for Monsanto’s GM crops back in 2005 because they were already being widely grown in the country illegally, Monsanto is still breaking the law by levying taxes against farmers and requiring them to pay royalties.
