Britain Seeking UN Action Against Syria
Friday, 10 June 2011 05:40

‘Britain has launched a fresh attempt at the UN Security Council to gather support for a resolution against Syria in yet another example of its double standard approach.
Foreign Secretary, William Hague, told parliament that diplomats were circulating a draft resolution to secure support at the Security Council to condemn the Syrian government for cracking down on the country’s protesters.
Hague spoke of the need for the Security Council “to speak out responsibly” against Syria, and warned of new European Union sanctions against the country.’
UK Police Weigh Strike Option Again
Friday, 10 June 2011 05:41

‘Thousands of police officers angry over the government’s spending cuts’ program are organizing a national day of action, according to British media reports.
It is expected that representatives of each force gather at Methodist Central Hall in Westminster on July 13 before a two-hour lobbying event with politicians to discuss the industrial action plan, the reports said.
Home Secretary Theresa May will be invited to the event, the Police Federation of England and Wales said.’
West’s anti-Syrian Bid Foiled at UNSC
Friday, 10 June 2011 05:42

‘Western powers have failed in their attempts to push through a UN Security Council (UNSC) resolution against Syria over an alleged crackdown on its opposition. During a UNSC meeting, the US-sponsored draft was met with intense opposition by Russia and China, which maintained that they were unwilling to interfere in “internal state matters.”
Expressing discontent with the UNSC meeting in which the draft was proposed, Russia’s UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin said that his country maintained its earlier stance against the resolution, IRNA reported.’
Israel Created Hamas to Avoid Peace
Friday, 10 June 2011 06:15

‘The Israelis created Hamas. But before we explore why, let’s be clear that Israel does not want peace. They want all of Palestine, and their belligerent settlement practices confirm that.
But the Israelis are taking advantage of the world’s ignorance of the realities in Palestine, and posturing as being willing to talk “peace”, only to actually stall that very peace process, so as not to interrupt the further colonization of Palestine. So anything that can be offered as an excuse, will be. The most convenient ploy, presented with the sycophantic assistance of the media, is that of “terrorism”.
But the masses are naive, and fail to suspect the Machiavellian extremes that certain leaders will resort to. This includes creating a false enemy, in this case, Hamas, whereby the right-wing leadership of the Israelis can point the finger to some “enemy” to blame for supposedly stalling the process.’
Bloodlust Blair Demands Wider Middle East Warfare
Friday, 10 June 2011 07:00

‘Britain and its allies should be ready to mount Libya-style interventions in other Arab countries, Tony Blair declares today.
The former Prime Minister, who committed British troops to military action in Afghanistan and Iraq, says that Europe and the United States must draw up a proper plan to support the so-called Arab Spring.’

The Big Banks Have Sold Us Out. Democrats And Republicans Have Sold Us Out. No One Is Defending Our Interests. Our Future Is Going Up In Flames. It’s Time For Us To Stand Up And Defend Ourselves

‘The big banks have sold us out.
Democrats and Republicans have sold us out.
No one is defending our interests.
Our future is going up in flames.
It’s time for us to stand up and defend ourselves.
Trillions of dollars in fraudulent activity by the big banks on Wall Street caused our current economic crisis. Paid off politicians from both parties, along with secret deals made by the Federal Reserve, gave trillions of taxpayer dollars and subsidies to the very people who caused our crisis. After taking our tax dollars, they had the audacity to give themselves all-time recording-breaking bonuses and consolidate wealth in unprecedented fashion within the economic top 0.01% of the population.’

Rift Widens in Israel over War on Iran
Thursday, 09 June 2011 06:01

‘Friction among Israeli spy officials and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are on the rise over the prospect of a military conflict with Iran.
Israeli Minister for the Home Front Defense Matan Vilnai and former Mossad chief Meir Dagan have both warned Netanyahu that should the regime launch an attack on Iran, more than 1,000 rockets will hit “central Israel for an undetermined period of time” on a daily basis, Haaretz reported on Tuesday.
In a series of remarks in May, the former Mossad chief said that any Israeli aerial attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities would be “the stupidest thing,” and warned that any such measure “could start a regional war which will include missile fire from Iran”.’

Corporate Media’s Capital Crimes Against Libya – and Humanity
Thursday, 09 June 2011 06:42

‘Every day, in Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Congo and now Libya, the U.S. corporate media commit crimes against humanity that are equal to the crimes perpetrated by the United States government. As facilitators of those crimes – through ceaseless propaganda, lies and demonization of those targeted by the United States – the corporate media are just as guilty of the grossest human rights violations as the government they serve.
The New York Times and the rest of the howling corporate propagandists that call themselves journalists behave no differently than the German newspaper publisher Julius Streicher, who was hanged for his media crimes against humanity in October, 1946.’

The killing and dying just goes on … some ‘change’ …
‘The American military suffered the deadliest attack against its forces in Iraq in more than two years Monday when rockets slammed into a joint U.S.-Iraqi base in Baghdad, killing five U.S. troops and reviving concerns about security and the stability of the country’s unwieldy coalition government.
The attack occurred around dawn at Camp Loyalty, known to Iraqis as Baladiyat base, when about six rockets struck near the U.S. residential quarters, according to Iraqi security officials. The rocket strikes were part of a day of violence across Iraq that left at least 17 Iraqis dead. Insurgents detonated car bombs, booby-trapped a house with explosives and attacked security checkpoints in the capital.’
