Gaddafi’s Son Offers Elections

‘Libyan ruler Muammar Gaddafi’s son, Seif al-Islam, has called for internationally supervised elections as a way to end the conflict in the North African nation. In an interview with Italian Corriere della Sera newspaper in the capital Tripoli on Thursday, Seif al-Islam said, “Elections is the only painless way to exit from the impasse in Libya,” AFP reported.

“We could hold them within three months. At most by the end of the year. And the guarantee of transparency could be the presence of international observers,” the 38-year-old Seif al-Islam said.’
