‘The United Nations has condemned a deadly airstrike by the Yemeni regime on a hospital in southern Yemen where government forces have stepped up attacks backed by US airstrikes against alleged armed groups.

The UN deplored the latest attack on Al-Razi hospital in Abyan in south Yemen, where at least seven civilians were killed. “The targeting of civilians and the obstruction of humanitarian aid constitute a serious violation of International Humanitarian Law,” the Associated Press quoted a UN statement as saying on Wednesday.’

NATO’s Peaceful and Sustainable Political Solution: Turn Tripoli Into a Slaughterhouse

Tuesday, 30 August 2011 07:15

‘In any case, in an attack coordinated by NATO, rebels from the Western Mountains entered Tripoli from the west and ships delivered fighters from Misrata, fresh from ethnically cleansing Tawergha, into the city. NATO airstrikes were launched against the residential area of Abu Salim.

The short-term results from a humanitarian perspective were predictable: widespread destruction, looting, a collapse of public services, executions, widespread death and destruction and the deaths of hundreds of civilians (particularly black people), militia and fighters on both sides. As AP reports.’

Fresh NATO Raids Kill 85 Civilians in Libya

Wednesday, 10 August 2011 05:06

‘The attacks took place in the village of Majer, south of Zlitan, which is located 160 km (100 miles) east of the capital, Tripoli, late on Monday, Libyan government spokesman Mussa Ibrahim said, AFP reported.

Thirty three children, 32 women and 20 men from 12 families were killed in the “massacre,” Ibrahim added.

“After the first three bombs dropped at around 11:00 p.m. (2100 GMT) on Monday, many residents of the area ran to the bombed houses to try to save their loved ones. Three more bombs struck,” he further said.’

NATO plans campaign in Syria, tightens noose around Iran – Rogozin

MOSCOW, August 5 (RIA Novosti)

NATO is planning a military campaign against Syria to help overthrow the regime of President Bashar al-Assad with a long-reaching goal of preparing a beachhead for an attack on Iran, Russia’s envoy to NATO Dmitry Rogozin said.

The UN Security Council condemned on Wednesday ongoing violence in Syria and urged the country’s authorities to stop using force against peaceful protesters, while saying the current situation in the country has not yet called for NATO interference.

“[This statement] means that the planning [of the military campaign] is well underway. It could be a logical conclusion of those military and propaganda operations, which have been carried out by certain Western countries against North Africa,” Rogozin said in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper published on Friday.

The Russian diplomat pointed out at the fact that the alliance is aiming to interfere only with the regimes “whose views do not coincide with those of the West.”

Rogozin agreed with the opinion expressed by some experts that Syria and later Yemen could be NATO’s last steps on the way to launch an attack on Iran.

“The noose around Iran is tightening. Military planning against Iran is underway. And we are certainly concerned about an escalation of a large-scale war in this huge region,” Rogozin said.

Having learned the Libyan lesson, Russia “will continue to oppose a forcible resolution of the situation in Syria,” he said, adding that the consequences of a large-scale conflict in North Africa would be devastating for the whole world.

Bombs Disguised As ‘Humanitarian’ Gifts NATO’s Paradoxical Mission in Libya

Saturday, 30 July 2011 07:18

‘NATO’s “Operation Unified Protector” is purportedly designed to protect Libyan civilians when in fact, this is merely a fig leaf to remove Gaddafi from power. Within 48 hours, the “protests” against Moammar Gaddafi turned violent and Libyan government forces were confronted with armed rebels. Civilians were never targeted by the Libyan regime to begin with. The civilian casualty rate for Misurata, for example, was less than three percent in the first two months of the conflict. This figure pales in comparison to the conflicts in Gaza or Fallujah where to this day civilians continue to suffer from the toxic legacy of depleted uranium from the brutal assault by American force and where the casualty rate exceeds those reported by the survivors of the atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.’

NATO hacked by Anonymous

Hackers from Anonymous claim to have lifted 1 GB of data from NATO servers.

Computer hackers working for the activism collective Anonymous announced today that NATO has been the victim of their latest Internet crime.

In a tweet today from the hacktivist group responsible for such high-profile infiltrations as ones perpetrated again Mastercard, Visa and PayPal in the past, Anonymous announced that, “Yes, we haz [sic] more of your delicious data.”

Anonymous doesn’t intend on disclosing all of what they’ve lifted from NATO servers, however — that, says the group, would be “irresponsible.” So far they have only released a single PDF file of a document headed with the message “NATO Restricted” dated to August of 2007. The group has hinted that some of the info will be leaked in the days to come.

The group notes that they have obtained roughly 1 GB of computer data.

One spokesperson for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization tells the Telegraph that it is investigating the claims. “We strongly condemn any leak of classified documents, which can potentially endanger the security of NATO allies, armed forces and citizens,” says another NATO spokesperson that would not be named by the AP.

While law enforcement officials and investigators worldwide are largely condemning an attack on such an established and powerful institution, Anonymous has fired back, taking a jab at the operations of associated governments. In a document released in conjunction with fellow hackers LulzSec today, Anonymous responds to a message from FBI Deputy Assistant Director Steve Chabinsky in which he calls Anonymous’ actions “unacceptable.”

“Now let us be clear here, Mr. Chabinsky, while we understand that you and your colleagues may find breaking into websites unacceptable, let us tell you what WE find unacceptable,” responds Anonymous.

The hackers add their own complaints against “the FBI and international law authorities” include “Governments lying to their citizens and inducing fear and terror to keep them in control by dismantling their freedom piece by piece” and “Corporations aiding and conspiring with said governments while taking advantage at the same time by collecting billions of funds for federal contracts we all know they can’t fulfil.”

“We become bandits on the Internet because you have forced our hand,” write the hackers. “The Anonymous bitchslap rings through your ears like hacktivism movements of the 90s. We’re back – and we’re not going anywhere. Expect us.”

Anonymous offshoot LulzSec has previously attacked the computer servers of the CIA, Senate and SONY, among others. On Monday they hacked the website of News Corp’s The Sun and earlier today revealed that they would be releasing emails obtained from the servers of News of the World.

Countdown to Invasion; Libya’s Neighborhoods Prepare for NATO’s Boots

‘NATO’s claims that private apartments and homes, schools, shops, factories, crops, and warehouses storing sacks of flour were legitimate military targets are not believed by anyone here in Libya. To date NATO has failed to provide a scintilla of evidence that the 15 civilians, mainly children and their aunts and mothers, who were torn to pieces by 8 NATO rockets in the Salman neighborhood last week were legitimate military targets.

Tripoli’s 3,200 neighborhoods, independently of the Libyan Armed Forces, are intensively preparing for the possibility that NATO forces or those they are seen as increasingly arming and directing, might invade the cosmopolitan greater Tripoli area during the coming weeks or months.’
