Cops Ticket Women for Sitting on Park Bench and Eating Doughnuts
Wednesday, 15 June 2011 08:21

‘Long gone are the days of common-sense courtesy when the average police officer actually took the time to consider the unique nature of minor law violations, and use his or her best judgment to decide whether a warning or a citation was most appropriate. New York City police officers recently issued tickets and court summons to two women who decided to sit for a few moments on a bench at a Brooklyn playground and eat a few doughnuts — all because they were illegally unaccompanied by a minor at the time.’

Embry – System Wide Melt Down as US to Enter Hyperinflation
Wednesday, 15 June 2011 09:28

‘With continued volatility in gold and silver, today King World News interviewed John Embry, Chief Investment Strategist of the now $9 billion strong Sprott Asset Management. When asked about the US debt situation Embry replied, “They’ve got this market in a lockdown because they don’t have any answers to anything.
So they’re just kicking the can down the road, but we’re getting close to when the can is going to hit the wall, then we’re going to have some action and I suspect that’s going to happen in the next two months.’

Israel Authorises Mining of Natural Gas off Gaza Shore in Defiance of Palestinian Sovereignty
Wednesday, 15 June 2011 07:47

‘This is the real reason for the maritime blockade of Gaza: Gaza’s offshore natural gas. Denying Palestine its rights over Gaza territorial waters is intent upon appropriating Gaza’s extensive reserves of natural gas.’
Stanley Fischer Stakes Claim to IMF Top Job
Tuesday, 14 June 2011 09:32

‘Stanley Fischer, the Israeli central bank governor, has challenged Christine Lagarde’s ability to run the International Monetary Fund by claiming that his training as an economist made him a superior candidate.
Fischer, whose interest in the post emerged over the weekend, said it is essential that the managing director of the IMF has the academic training to help steer the world economy through the current crisis.
“In normal times, you can probably rely on intuition,” Fischer told the Wall Street Journal. “But all the time, in different countries, there are serious economic issues [to be addressed].”‘
‘Controlled’ Power Cuts Likely as Sun Storm Threatens National Grid
Tuesday, 14 June 2011 09:51

‘Officials in Britain and the United States are preparing to make controlled power cuts to their national electricity supplies in response to a warning of a possible powerful solar storm hitting the Earth. In an interview with The Independent, Thomas Bogdan, director of the US Space Weather Prediction Centre, said that controlled power “outages” will protect the National Electricity Grids against damage which could take months or even years to repair should a large solar storm collide with the Earth without any precautions being taken.’

Israel PM in Rome to Stop Palestine State
Monday, 13 June 2011 06:27

‘Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is due to meet Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in a bid to convince Italy to oppose a Palestinian statehood.
Netanyahu and nine Israeli ministers arrived in Italy on Sunday for two days of joint meetings, AFP reported. The talks between Netanyahu and Berlusconi are to include the recent changes and revolutions in the Middle East.
The main reason of the visit, however, is to persuade Italy to oppose a Palestinian statehood as the new Palestinian unity government is expected to apply for the United Nations recognition and membership in September.’

The demonstrators shouted “Thieves! Thieves! Thieves!” at the “corrupt politicians” and condemned the government’s privatization plan and austerity measures.
The demonstrators also called for a general strike planned for Wednesday in response to the meeting that will be held on the same day.’
Greece Pays a Heavy Price as Eurozone Strives to Protect its Reckless Banks
Monday, 13 June 2011 07:20

‘While Germany was locked in an embarrassing public spat with the European Central Bank last week over who should pay the price for a new Greek bailout, fresh evidence was emerging of the impact of the savage cuts Athens has already imposed on its increasingly restive citizens.
The number of people unemployed has shot up by 40% over the past 12 months; the jobless rate now stands above 16%. Among young people it’s a devastating 42%, representing extraordinary human and social cost. Yet the government’s latest plans envisage another four years of slash and burn, taking the deficit from 7.5% of GDP this year to 1% by 2015. It’s extreme fiscal masochism, and it isn’t going to work.’

The Fed’s $600 Billion Stealth Bailout Of Foreign Banks Continues At The Expense Of The Domestic Economy, Or Explaining Where All The QE2 Money Went
Monday, 13 June 2011 08:16

‘In summary, instead of doing everything in its power to stimulate reserve, and thus cash, accumulation at domestic (US) banks which would in turn encourage lending to US borrowers, the Fed has been conducting yet another stealthy foreign bank rescue operation, which rerouted $600 billion in capital from potential borrowers to insolvent foreign financial institutions in the past 7 months. QE2 was nothing more (or less) than another European bank rescue operation!’
