Hundreds Detained in Belarus Protests

‘”About 450 people were detained in Belarus for participating in the Revolution Through Social Media protest action,” RIA Novosti news agency reported, citing a post published on the website of Belarusian Vesna human rights group.
Several thousand people took to the streets in downtown Minsk on Wednesday to protest against Lukashenko’s economic policies and his management of the financial crisis in the ex-Soviet republic.
Belarusian Special Forces moved in, rounded up dozens of people and hustled them into police buses. Journalists of local media were among those detained.’
